Our friends over at Rad Summer are killin’ it! Today they released Somepoe’s “Seven Day” EP by their first European signing! For Rad Summer’s ninth release, the young imprint reached across the Atlantic to Finnish producer Somepoe for a 5 track banger.  Beginning with the trill inspired “Seven Dayz” and ending with the sentimental “Oulu Theme”, Somepoe aka Topi Paananen brings a unique sense of style to his production by combining familiar samples with snapping drums and melodic drums.  Unlike much of the aggressive dance music being released currently, “Seven Dayz” gives each track a chance to develop a captivating groove.  Sompoe has crafted an EP that is equally worth hearing in a club or through headphones. Somepoe has been active for sometime now in Finland’s bass music scene. Running the popular club night and radion show Fire In The City has provided the young producer/DJ with the perfect platform to present his unique ear for interesting samples, trap drums, and bass. Topi can often be found rocking crowds with some of the world’s finest dance musicians including Lil Silva, Mensah, L-Wiz, Tes La Rok, Desto, Dj Madd, Bert On Beats, Lady Chann, RSD, and Onra. When Oreo Jones debuted his Halloween costume last year Black Fabio, no one expected it to spawn a concept mixtape that keeps you dancing and laughing front to back. Nine months later and with the help of Action Jackson, that is exactly what’s been created. Just as Fabio was never constrained by wearing a shirt, OJ and Jackson chose not to be encumbered by genre and drew from anything including rap to post-punk to moombahton. The “Black Fabio” mixtape is an unique collection of 14 tracks that tell the saga of the titular characters. Starting with the title track and moving forward through “Niagara Falls”, Oreo and Action prove why they are two of the most creative emerging artists. “Black Fabio” is available for FREE DOWNLOAD or STREAM now!

On the First Tuesday of every month a neighborhood pub in downtown Indianapolis is transformed into the wildest dance club in the Midwest.

The Lockerbie Pub in Indianapolis is home to LET GO! at The Lockerbie, hosted by resident DJs Andy & Annie of A-Squared Industries and DJ Action Jackson of Rad Summer.

It is a crazy, sweaty, insane DJ dance night that has been going strong since December 2008 when A-Squared teamed up with DJ Scotty Matelic to make a night of mayhem once a month.

This video was commissioned by A-Squared & Action Jackson and filmed, directed and produced by Jace (Jeremy Wallace).

A SQUARED & RAD SUMMER SHOWCASE

A Squared is a musical wonder-duo that books and promotes concerts, dj’s events, manages records stores and provides marketing consulting among many other things. Rad Summer is a a full-blown promotion company and record label run by Flufftronix and Action Jackson.

Here’s the video for Cut Copy’s latest single, ‘Blink And You’ll Miss A Revolution’, is here. Directed by Emile Sornin and produced by Jules de Chateleux at Division, it shows the band conjuring up a cave-age concert with their Neanderthal ancestors.

Last year’s BRMF included 16 venues (spanning from 38th St to 71st St) and featured 125 bands. Attendance exceeded 3,300 (including a near capacity kickoff at the Vogue Theatre).
